Dr Farnoush Noushi

MB BS (Hons), Graduate Certificate Education, Master of Surgery, Doctor of Philosophy, FRACS

Dr Noushi is a surgical oncologist with expertise in oncoplastic, minimal access and reconstructive breast and skin cancer surgery. Dr Noushi is also a general surgeon with extensive experience in laparoscopic surgery (including hernia repair, gallbladder removal) and endoscopy/colonoscopy.

Dr Kenneth Nam
MBBS (UNSW), Master of Medicine, Master of Education, FANZCA Specialist Anaesthetist

Dr Nam is a Consultant Anaesthetist at North Shore Private, Sydney Adventist, Concord and Hornsby Hospitals. Dr Nam graduated from University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. Dr Nam completed his specialist training at Canberra and Concord Hospitals. During his training in anaesthesia, he also completed a Master of Medicine degree in Pain Management in Sydney University. He also holds a Master of Education degree from Sydney University. Dr Nam works in several public and private hospitals around Sydney. He has a special interest in anaesthesia for Breast and General Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, Ear Nose and Throat surgery and Paediatric anaesthesia.

POST-SURGICAL TEAM

Post-operative team care is an important service we provide to optimise patient care.

The APAC service in Northern Sydney is an affiliated team of specially trained nurses, physiotherapists and social workers that faciliate early discharge from hospital.

The APAC service is a "Hospital in the Home" service that provides intense, short term, interdisciplinary acute health care and management to patient's as direct substitution for in-patient hospital care.

Some of their services include home visits, wound care, drain management and liaison with other medical and general practitioners. This service enables timely discharge from hospital and ongoing postoperative care and support.

Dr Kheng-Heng Ng

MBBS (UNSW), FANZCA Specialist Anaesthetist

Dr Kheng-Heng Ng is a Consultant Anaesthetist at Royal North Shore Hospital, Hornsby Hospital, North Shore Private Hospital, Sydney Adventist Hospital and Norwest Private Hospital. His sub-specialty areas of interest include anaesthesia for breast, endocrine, orthopaedic, upper gastrointestinal, colorectal, urological, and general surgery. Dr Ng enjoys music, travel and sports in his spare time.

Ms Isabel Chu
PDN (RN), MLLP, MHS Surgical Assistant

Ms Chu is a highly regarded surgical assistant and accredited to several private hospitals in Sydney, including North Shore Private, Sydney Adventist and Mater Hospitals. She initially trained as theatre nurse and has more than 16 years experience in theatre setting. She is also a qualified lawyer since 2005. Ms Chu returned to the surgical arena as she discovered her passion was to be a proficient surgical assistant. She received special training in this area through a Master of Health Science and completed her course with distinction. Ms Chu has been Dr Noushi’s surgical assistant for over 4 years.

BREAST CARE NURSES

There are several breast nurses that work closely with us to provide information and support for our breast cancer patients.

These include Ms Maree Cosgrove at North Shore Private Hospital, Ms Elaine Arnold at Manly Hospital and the Northern Beaches, Ms Catrina Ross at Ryde Hospital and Ms Jenny Crook at Sydney Adventist Hospital.

Breast nurses are integral in coordinating and providing multidisciplinary care for breast cancer patients and their families.

Some of the common ways they can assist breast cancer patients include:

  • Help explain treatment options suggested by the specialist.
  • Provide information on breast prosthesis and reconstruction
  • Wound review
  • Provide information about treatments recommended
  • Provide emotional support for the patient and their family
  • Assist with Cancer Support Services
  • Coordinate cancer treatment plan
